What foods should you eat if you’re trying to lose weight? Here are some of the foods I eat on a daily basis.
Breakfast: I have oatmeal almost every single day. I might switch it up with some whole grain french toast every once in awhile, but for the most part, I’ll have oatmeal with a piece of fruit and either nuts or peanut butter. In the summer or when I know I’ll be in a rush the next day I’ll make overnight oats…which is 1/2 cup rolled oats soaked in 3/4 cup almond milk overnight with whatever you want added in. I’ll usually do peanut butter and fruit. Super yummy!
Snack: Every day I have Shakeology for a snack. It’s typically right after my workout.
Lunch: Salad with different kinds of veggies, 2 hard boiled eggs, 1/4 cup hummus. I use hummus for my salad dressing with a little balsamic vinegar-yum! If I don’t use eggs, I’ll have some tempeh or beans on my salad.
Snack: Usually 1/4 cup almonds and an apple, or a P90X protein bar. Sometimes I’ll make a protein smoothie…especially if it’s hot outside.
Dinner: Varies. Sometimes salmon with sweet potato and veggies, or vegan chili with avocado and brown rice, or shrimp with whole grain pasta, or if I’m feeling lazy just some greek yogurt with peanut butter.
Snack: I may skip this one. It depends on how early I ate dinner, how hungry I am, and what my calories were for the day. It would either be a P90X bar, almonds, or greek yogurt with peanut butter.
My calories are typically right around 2,000 since I’m breast feeding. If I weren’t breast feeding it would be more like 1600-1800. I keep track of my calories using Myfitnesspal.com. If you don’t have an account, I highly suggest you get one, and add me! My screen name is rachelngom =)
