These things are seriously amazing!!! Chocolate + peanut butter = winning combo. Always. Making that combo a protein bar was the best idea ever. I present to you: Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars.
The thing that I LOVE about these protein bars is that they are super easy to customize! You can make these Paleo, vegan AND gluten free if you want to =)
These protein bars are super easy to make–you just need a food processor.

Prep Time

Total Time
10 min
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups whole grain cereal (you can use rolled oats, I used organic bran flakes because that's what I had on hand. Doesn't really matter =))
- 1 cup dates
- 1 cup protein powder (I used Syntha 6 chocolate protein powder...you can also use Shakeology)
- 1/3 cup cacao powder (or cocoa powder)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (can sub pb2 for 1/4 cup if you wish--so 1/4 cup pb2 and 1/4 cup peanut butter)
- 1/2 cup agave nectar (or honey or maple syrup)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Add all ingredients into a food processor.
- Process until all ingredients are combined.
- You can make these traditional protein bars and roll them out into an 8x8 baking dish OR roll them into balls! Totally up to you!
- Refrigerate until ready to eat.
Notes
- Please note--the measurements aren't super exact--they may change depending on the kind of protein powder you use. If it's not sticky enough, add more agave.
- To make these vegan: use vegan protein powder, like Sunwarrior
- To make these Paleo: sub almond butter for the peanut butter and pb2 (may need less agave then)
- To make these gluten free: use a gluten free grain, or gluten free oats
