These things are seriously amazing!!! Chocolate + peanut butter = winning combo. Always. Making that combo a protein bar was the best idea ever. I present to you: Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars.

The thing that I LOVE about these protein bars is that they are super easy to customize! You can make these Paleo, vegan AND gluten free if you want to =)

These protein bars are super easy to make–you just need a food processor.

Ingredients
  1. 1.5 cups whole grain cereal (you can use rolled oats, I used organic bran flakes because that's what I had on hand. Doesn't really matter =))
  2. 1 cup dates
  3. 1 cup protein powder (I used Syntha 6 chocolate protein powder...you can also use Shakeology)
  4. 1/3 cup cacao powder (or cocoa powder)
  5. 1/2 cup peanut butter (can sub pb2 for 1/4 cup if you wish--so 1/4 cup pb2 and 1/4 cup peanut butter)
  6. 1/2 cup agave nectar (or honey or maple syrup)
  7. 1 tsp salt
  8. 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients into a food processor.
  2. Process until all ingredients are combined.
  3. You can make these traditional protein bars and roll them out into an 8x8 baking dish OR roll them into balls! Totally up to you!
  4. Refrigerate until ready to eat.
Notes
  1. Please note--the measurements aren't super exact--they may change depending on the kind of protein powder you use. If it's not sticky enough, add more agave.
  2. To make these vegan: use vegan protein powder, like Sunwarrior
  3. To make these Paleo: sub almond butter for the peanut butter and pb2 (may need less agave then)
  4. To make these gluten free: use a gluten free grain, or gluten free oats
